FXS gateway is used to connect your traditional telephones and fax machines to a VOIP Phone system, an FXO gateway is used to connect your VoIP phone system to your PSTN lines. POTS devices, including analog phones, fax machines, and legacy voicemail systems, are connected to a VoIP gateway via FXS analog trunks. FXS The port that genuinely provides the analog line to the subscriber is known as the subscriber interface. In other words, the dial tone, battery current, and ring voltage are all provided by the "plug on the wall."
